Let’s talk about miscommunication…

I put everything into making sure my brides & clients feel supported & stress-free. My phone is always by my side—even on holidays—so I never miss an important message. I respond to every enquiry, every email, every little question, because I know how much your wedding means to you.

This year, I’ve been open about how difficult life has been. We’re in the grips of end-of-life cancer care with a close family member. I lost my bff dog, Lilly, after 16 years together. I busted my knee & had to take time off. And on top of that, I have a very demanding 2.5 year-old toddler. It’s enough to make anyone’s head spin!

Yet, despite everything, I’ve still responded to every email, every question—within 24-48 hours—so my brides & clients always have the information they need. The only time it’s taken longer is when we’ve been away spending time together as a family before it’s too late, which I’ve always made clear.

And then yesterday… THIS!

An email goes to spam or gets blocked.
Instead of a quick follow-up, assumptions are made & suddenly my professionalism is questioned over something completely out of my control.

In 16 years of running my business, I’ve NEVER had a cancellation over a missing email—until now. No follow-up, no message to check, just a flippant decision. And because of that, I’ve turned away other brides for this date & I’m left with a space I probably won’t fill, but my bills still need paying.

Brides, if you’re waiting on a response from ANY supplier—check your spam folder or a simple follow-up could make all the difference.

Please read regarding appointments & Saturday bridal trials:

This year has started off absolutely awful & all my carefully planned diary arrangements have been thrown completely out of the window.

First, I busted my knee, which meant taking some time off & rearranging clients/trials—a total nightmare! Thank you so much to everyone who has been so understanding about this.

Then, we got devastating news. A very close family member has been undergoing immunotherapy after a cancer diagnosis, but sadly, we’ve now found out the cancer has aggressively spread & we’ve been given just 3-4 months.

Every year, I hold back a few Saturdays at the start of the year for trials, but I’ve had to cancel these for the near foreseeable to make time to spend with family while we still can.

I know this hasn’t gone down well with everyone & I totally understand the frustration. But, this really is life or death & I can’t regret not spending time together.❤️

I’ve contacted all the brides affected & rearranged their trials where possible. However, I need all my brides & clients to understand that, for the time being, my availability isn’t quite what it normally would be.

That said, I want to make it clear that I am 100% committed to all my clients & weddings & have absolutely NO intention of cancelling any bridal bookings. I just need a little patience & understanding during this time.

Thank you for allowing me the space to focus on what truly matters right now-moments with family. 💕

Why I carry a makeup bag bigger than a kitchen cupboard!!

It’s huge & while I don’t usually need everything in it, yesterday proved why I do!
The poor mother of the bride took a fall the night before the wedding, leaving her with a cut & black eye. Disaster!

The cut was still bleeding & no traditional makeup would stick. After 15 years in bridal makeup, I pulled out something I’d never used before-liquid plaster! I needed it to seal the cut…
And voila!
It worked like magic.
Mum cried.
I cried.
Mission accomplished!
